Judge Releases Illegal Alien who Beheaded Iwo Jima Statue on just a Couople of Thousand Dollars Bond
Timthy Birdnow
$2500 bond for beheading the Iwo Jima statue? This guy will eat that and flee the country.
Prince William County Circuit Court Chief Judge Petula Metzler ruled Monday the illegal alien vandal could get out on this low bond. No doubt he'll pay a bondsman who he plans on stiffing.
Her bio says she was a cucumber picker from rural North Carolina, then got an English degree at George Mason and went to law school at Catholic University.. She was named to a judgeship in 2016 and then elected to her current post in 2021. I have no doubt she's a loyal Democrat.
ICE has filed a detainer against the vandal and so he'll be arrested and deported, if he doesn't flee first.

No Country for Old Men - After the EMP
Timothy Birdnow
A wise precaution in any case but isn't this interesting it's being prepared for now?
From the Epoch Times article:
Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed reporting on the issue published by Fox News Digital on Oct. 25.
"FORTRESS is strategic deterrence in action, ensuring our defenses are hardened, proactive, and ready,” Parnell said in an X post sharing the article on Oct. 25.
FORTRESS stands for Federal Operations for Resilience, Troop Resources, Energy, Supply, and Survivability.
Parnell said he created FORTRESS America "because we can no longer rely on two oceans to protect us.”
"That outdated assumption no longer reflects the threats we face,” he said.
"President [Donald] Trump and Secretary [Pete] Hegseth understand this and have already paved the way with Golden Dome and a renewed focus on the Western Hemisphere, including Greenland and Panama.
end
This should have been done years ago and is a testament to the unseriousness of the Biden and Obama Administrations respectively, and probably to the Bush Administration as well. We were sitting ducks for an infrastructure attack.
At any rate this report by Congress has triggered a lot of concern and not just from crazy doomsdayers or political pundits but from the military itself, and little was being done to remedy the situation.
Equipment has to be hardened, by which we mean it needs to be sheltered by a Faraday Cage, which would direct the fast moving electrons to ground. When an atomic bomb detonates in the air it strips the atmosphere of charged particles which move in a fast-moving wave (called the Compton Effect). This wave is too fast for 90%conventional surge protection so it blows out all electronics. Also, an EMP comes in three "flavors" or surges with the E1 surge frying electronics but the E3 surge actually triggering current flow in geological formations, so the ground itself burns out our electric grid. Since everything has complex electronics now that would mean the end of our civilization.
Here is a simple article explaining what happens.
The Congressional report argued that within one year of the EMP attack 90% of our population would be dead. That is not a typo. They would die of starvation, of violence, of disease, of thirst and of exposure. It would make Mel Gibson's Road Warrior appear tame.
Other things can cause an EMP than a nuclear device. In 1859 there was a huge coronal mass ejection from the Sun that hit the Earth. Named after it's discoverer (who was watching at the time) it became known as the Carrington Event. It destroyed all the electronics of the day, which mostly consisted of a few telegraph lines. If Carrington were to hit today our whole civilization would die horribly. I believe asteroid strikes could trigger an EMP too.
Also, it's possible to make a much smaller EMP without a nuclear bomb.
That is just an EMP. There are other ways to wreck our defenses by taking out the grid. A nasty computer virus, for example.
We have to be prepared, and the military has to be prepared. Being in the military would be the best place to be if an EMP were to hit; they'd have stockpiled food. It might be MRE's, which taste like shit, as I'm given to understand, but who cares when everyone else is starving! But you will be first into combat with any nasties. And there will be plenty of nasties out there.
The rest of us will have to try to hide and hope for the best. Stockpiled food will last some time, if you are careful, but not that long. Everyone needs to learn how to farm and make sure they have seeds - and greenhouses. And a secure place to go. Ideally have some community which is largely self-sufficient already and capable of protecting itself. Guns are not optional. Neither is medicine and knowledge of what to do with it.
Make sure you have light, and what you need to make light work. Batteries are fine until they run out. Get rechargeable and an inverter so you can recharge them off a car battery. Stock up on oil lamps and kerosene. Be sure to have a fire starter and not just a lighter; ideally an old-fashioned flint and metal one would be ideal. And be prepared to run at any moment.
As for your place ideally in the mountains and with one way in and out - one way that can be blocked easily. Me, I always have my Ozark Hilton, but it really isn't defensible and it is not far from a small highway. That would probably be impassible thanks to the locals so if I got in there I may be o.k. - may be. But it is the best I could do. I bought it because it was close to resorts stuff - canoe rivers, a big Army Corps of Engineers lake, some decent hiking, even by Big Springs, the largest natural spring in the U.S. Lovely country. But my property would hide me but not protect me. But it's the best I can do if the SHTF. Oh, and I'd have to bring all my food down there if it does. Leave it there and it will be plundered by some local thieves. They already stole everything I left there.
And I'd have to be able to GET there; hard to do when all cars no longer work.
Anyway enough survivalism.
The point is it is interesting they are doing this now. But it's wise; with a possible widening of the Russo-Ukrainian war, and with the war with Iran, we had bloody well be ready for such an attack. If Iran could just get one nuclear bomb over Nebraska about five hundred miles up...
Within weeks everyone would be starving. Within months cannibalism would be common. Within a year only a few would be left; preppers who made the right decisions, survivalists who killed and ate people, and the military. Most of us would be gone and that includes me. This would be no country for old men. It wouldn't be a country for most young men either, nor women.
Let's hope and pray it never comes to that.

Violent Crime Dropped under Trump
Timothy Birdnow
This is what happens when you actually enforce the law.
This happened during the Reagan era too and we saw crime drop quite a bit under Reagan, and it remained down un Bush and Clinton but started ticking back up as the border became unsecure and lots of criminals began coming in.
Now though it sucks to be a violent criminal; you will go to jail and if you are a foreigner get deported to some hellhole country with prisons that are more horrible than anything. So crime has dropped precipitously.
I hope the American People remember this on election day. Being secure in your person and belongings is one of the very core jobs of the government.
FTA:
Violent and property crime victimization rates declined across the United States in 2025, with aggravated assaults falling 31% and motor vehicle thefts dropping 30%, according to a new Justice Department report that the Trump administration cited as evidence of the success of its law-and-order agenda.
Preliminary findings from the Bureau of Justice Statistics show that the violent crime victimization rate, excluding simple assault, fell 25%, from 9.9 victimizations per 1,000 Americans age 12 and older in 2024 to 7.4 in 2025.
Aggravated assaults declined from 4.5 to 3.1 per 1,000 people, while the overall property crime victimization rate dropped 19%, from 138 to 111.2 per 1,000 households.
More good news for America. People just need to give Trump time in getting the war to end and unleashing the amazing power of the engine of the American economy. Right now he's dealing with an existential threat. People need to understand that.
I heard a whiny caller on Glenn Beck's radio show this morning sniveling about the economy.
"I just wish Trump would shore more compassion about the economy and high cost of living" he complained.
Trump isn't a warm fuzzy; he's a pragmatic doer. If you want someone to feel your pain you should vote for Hillary Clinton (well, Bill) but what good does THAT do? Trump was and continues to do something about the problem. He's gone after every and any source of oil to get gas prices down, and he's trying to find alternate sources of goods. It's not his fault we had35 years of globalism where the U.S. got taen advantage of; he's trying now to fix that. Naturally the swindlers are not please their favorite chump is now fighting back. But in the end Trump will prevail as long as wimpy dudes like that caller fail to vote because Trump isn't going around crying with them. We didn't hire him to do that; we hired a shark, not Flipper.
America had better wake up.

Schiffless No-Account Dems Claiming Trump, GOP Plotting to Steal Elections
Timothy Birdnow
More proof the GOP may well win on election night.
You can always tell what they are up to - the tell us. In this case they are trying to do what they always do - steal the election - and they are setting up for their when they lose, which tells me they have internal polling showing they are in trouble.
So they say Trump and the GOP are going to steal the elections.
It's always projection with the Demi-Left.
In this case it is Adam Schiff accusing the Administration of trying to subvert election results over a lawsuit filed against the Democrats for trying to trick voters by promoting a life-long Democrats named Dan Sullivan to run against a Republican incumbent named Dan Sullivan so as to split the Alaskan vote and win the Senate seat. The particulars don't really matter; it's just the most convenient thing to snipe at. All that Schiff is doing is bringing up the sense that the GOP is crooked and trying to "steal" the election up there and everywhere else.
This will be followed by violent protests after election day in which they will claim Trump cheated, just as they would have done.
I believe this is a measure of some desperation and that it suggests to me that the Democrats are grasping at straws, setting up for a post-electoral protest and nothing more. I think they may well believe they are going to lose.

A Plot to Overthrow the American Government
Timothy Birdnow
Treason is the reason for the season.
If military brass are involved they should be prosecuted for treason; they cannot discuss overthrowing the elected government and their Commander-in-Chief and the Constitution without it being so.
Those dirtbags swore an oath to the Constitution; they cannot talk about "extra-constitutional" actions.
They now constitute the domestic threat to which they pledged to defend us.
From the Daily Caller article:
A collection of non-governmental organizations staffed by former members of the military, federal government, and intelligence community is reportedly working to undermine the Constitution following the midterm elections.
The alleged network of former military officers, intelligence officials, and ex-USAID personnel is coordinating to advise state governments on scenarios involving military intervention during the 2026 midterm elections, according to investigative researcher Jennica Pounds, better known online as DataRepublican. The groups, which include Renew to Thrive and National Security Leaders For America (NSL4A), have backed anti-Trump protests, discussed when the federal government could be declared illegitimate, and entertained the idea of "extra-constitutional” measures, raising questions about whether they are preparing for a constitutional crisis or actively working to manufacture a color revolution, a series of non-violent, mass public protests, and civil disobedience movements.
This is conspiracy to overthrow the United States government as well as treason and the FBI needs to be shoulder-deep in this. These are clear crimes.
They are plotting a color revolution in the U.S. (something discussed during the first Trump administration.)
If they try to do this it will trigger a bloody and violent civil war. Americans cannot and will not sit idly by and let a group of unelected disgruntled military and civil servant types seize control of our government and dissolve the Constitution.
Trump did not seize power; he was duly elected BY THE PEOPLE and he has been quite careful to obey all laws, including all ridiculous orders from Biden/Obama judges. So these groups have nigh a leg to stand upon. They are just criminals.
And if they do this they will be enemies of We the People. I wouldn't recommend going there.
It's funny; they claim they must cancel the Constitution to save it with their little beerhall Putsch. Who are the Fascists here? Who is violating the basic rules of a Democratic Republic? It's not Donald Trump.
And you know full well all of these people were fired, and mainly for cause, by the Administration; this is pure payback, not principle.
We need to throw these creeps in a hole and throw away the key. I wish Gitmo were still in it's heyday.
Wonder if they've been in contact with the Russians or Chinese or Iran?

A Saint in Climate Change Inc.
Timothy Birdnow
John Arnold, a former Enron exec who made billions selling natural gas and oil, has become one of the principal financiers of the Gang Green, and his labyrinth of money laundering to radical environmental groups aka the Gang Green, has the global warming kooks flush with cash.
This article was originally from The Blaze and behind a paywall, but the good folks at Conservative Angle kindly reproduced it for us.
I suspected there was some new billionaire money; the climate alarmists have been very active on the Facebook groups to which I belong. Lots of scientists. I've been in a long one with an astrophysicist from NASA, or formerly from NASA, who worked on the Hubble telescope project and who is now devoting himself to arguing with random strangers on Facebook over Global Warming. I accused him of being a troll (he has nothing on his home page but the climate groups) and I believe he is one; I suspect someone is paying this guy to make an "authoritative" case, yet he uses many of the same shibboleths that the Gang Green always uses (like "the science is settled") There are others too and I am pretty sure there is a lot of money floating around right now for people with a science background to defend the climate kookery.
They always accuse us of being backed by big oil and deny they are much better funded by government, by NGO's, and by wealthy billionaires like this guy. But the fact remains they have vast sums of wealth at their disposal and our side does not. We just have a few honest scientists, mostly older ones who no longer worry about their careers.
Climate alarmism has always been a medicine show, a con, a Harold Hill type exercise "we got trouble - right here, with a capital T and it rhymes with C and that stands for climate". It's always "act now before it's too late" the classic sign of an advertising campaign and not a scientific inquiry.
I knew when they announced the creation of the IPCC that would be nothing but a con job, a long con. The U.N. wants to be a world government, and it wants to rid the world of free markets. OF COURSE they were going to find that our emissions are going to kill us! They are Harold Hill here.
And when they fleece us of all our money like Hill does to the townsfolk in Music Man they will "skip town" metaphorically; the issue will be discussed less and less and eventually trickle off. But only after they get what they want which is quite ambitious. They want the world (I picture in my mind Dr. Evil from Austin Powers bouncing the giant rubber globe on his son's head as in the second movie.)
This has been the planned route to power all along. They first tried Global Cooling but that petered out as the planet began a warming trend, so they switched to Warming without missing a beat (and it was the same people promoting both.) Now they have way too much invested in Global Warming and they are praying (to themselves I imagine, or to Gaia) that the planet warms for another thirty years so they can trick the public. If it cools they are going to have a hard time explaining that. Warming stopped during the last few decades as the sun has been quiet, but it's becoming more active and now it might warm a bit more and they will say "see!" and begin pushing this again.
There is every reason to believe most if not all of the warming we see (a very modest warming) is natural variability. Yes, humans do impact climate, with land use changes, for instance. And the decline in cloud cover explains much of the current warming as well. But it's a warming that really does not require explaining. One friggin degree! And we do not even know if we have that right as they keep eliminating temperature stations (and those suck anyway, see www.surfacestations.org) and just averaging them. Satellites are better but still only see the same places at the same time every day. We have no "planetary temperature" except estimated (even the satellites are dependent on models) and that is subject to the fudge factor and if not is still subjective.
At any rate powerful forces want this, very powerful, very wealthy, very internationalist forces. We are up against the full might of governments and silicon valley and NGO's and even oil companies (yes, they donate to environmentalists over climate change). This is truly a David and Goliath battle.
I'm glad somebody is outing this creep.

Death by Affluenza
Timothy Birdnow
I was thinking about the rising tide of Marxism around the world and it's a strange thing; we live in an era of prosperity undreamed of by our ancestors. We live in a material paradise, with fabulous wealth. We just throw things away when we get tired of them, not when they get worn out. We have iPhones and are simply dazzled by instant communication and the internet at our fingertips, with the average phone having more computing power than the one that ran the Moon landing in 1969. Everyone has air conditioning. Most families have two, three cars. Most have three television sets or more. We live healthy, long lives, far longer and healthier than our great grandparents. Our televisions have hundreds of channels, not the three we had when I was a kid, and they come in crystal clear, not all fuzzy and wavy. We have gourmet instant food; frozen or pre-mixed and all you have to do is pop it in the microwave for a few minutes. No more laborious hand cooking over a fire as in the old days! Kids no longer have cavities, and when their teeth come in crooked they don't need those old giant retainers that came out of their mouths and went around their heads. Everything is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We've cured diseases at an astonishing rate; no more diphtheria, or cholera, or smallpox.
People bathe daily and wash their clothes most days so they never have to wear dirty underwear or whatnot.
We are rarely cold, rarely hot, rarely sick, rarely stranded. Our lives are better now than kings of just a century ago.
And yet so many of us are bitching. Communism and socialism is on the rise, despite the fact we waged a war on Communism for over fifty years. Yet people - especially young people - are more discontent than ever, especially at the capitalist system.
It was the capitalist system that gave us this material paradise we now have.
This enormous cornucopia of wealth was born from the free market, from people starting companies, inventing new and better products, from people coming up with better systems to produce stuff, and ultimately from better service.
Take Amazon. It started life as an online bookseller; Jeff Bezos had some books he wanted to be rid of so he sold them online, and realized there was a real market for online sales. By working out a system that gave excellent customer service and fast delivery Bezos was able to create a world-girdling empire, and pretty much put Sears Roebuck out of business.
That has been repeated over and over in the last century, and our technology keeps getting better and better.
Yet here we have these ungrateful snots going online to complain about free enterprise on the smartphones they purchased with the money they did not earn by not working.
It's an amazing spectacle to watch.
Go to any Antifa protest and you see these young fools dressed in brand new clothes as they protest the very system that made it possible for them to have brand new protest clothes. If they lived in the old Soviet Union they would have been wearing rags - and that is assuming they would be protesting at all. More likely they would disappear and never be heard from again.
So we have this amazing situation where ungrateful people think they have it so bad when in fact they are living better than Caesar.
But they aren't living like gods, which is why they are angry. They look around and see the uber-rich with private jets and mansions (as opposed to their own 3000 square foot home) and are consumed by jealousy, coveting what their neighbor possesses. Well, it's not so easy to be a billionaire; you work all the time, you have people trying to slice your throat, you have women marry you for your money then tear your heart out, etc. It is a gladiator's arena. One of the few good things about it is you have money to own things and do things. But few people are willing to earn it that way. They want it given to them.
And they don't want to work. I remember when I was a teenager I didn't want to work either (and I had some pretty bad jobs) but I most definitely DID want the money I made. Kids these days want to skip the work and just take the earnings. They have been so entitled that they think it is owed them just for their existing. They figure their parents brought them into this world and so owe them.
It's a very curious role reversal; instead of being grateful their parents had enough love to conceive them and birth them and raise them and love them they figure their parents did it solely out for self-fulfillment and so the parents owe them big time. That's why they won't move out of their parent's homes; why should they?
And it is why they are all on-board with Marxism and Socialism. They want to live without being productive. They think the world owes them. And they are used to being given participation trophies and not being forced to actually face the real world.
I remember back in the eighties when the big "self esteem" juggernaut began rolling. We were told the problems in society stemmed from too much low self-esteem. Well, kids SHOULD lack self-esteem, or more precisely arrogance, because by and large they have nothing to contribute. They are in the learning phase of their lives and they have nothing to add to any conversation. Their thoughts are meaningless. We encourage them to speak them but that is to teach them to express their thoughts and to organize them and to learn to THINK. But until someone gets a bit of experience under their belts their thoughts are pretty worthless.
Not always of course; the inventor of the television was a 13 year old boy who entered his idea in a science fair. Philo Farnsworth was a kid from Washington State, and his teachers didn't know what he was talking about but one of them thought it might be important so he got some professors from the University of Washington to come and they were stunned - it could work. It did.
But that was rare; most times young skulls are full of mush, as Rush Limbaugh used to say.
But we began inflating their egos until they are now as tall as skyscrapers, and while they live better than kings and emperors they are still unhappy.
Part of that is the fact that their parents have been seduced by all the wealth, by the success, by the amazing things in our society. Wealth and success often breeds dissatisfaction, and God Himself told warned the Israelites they were coming into a very dangerous situation as they were entering the Holy Land because they were soon going to have easy, wealthy, successful lives and in the process would forget Him and become dissatisfied. It's why there was not one but TWO Commandments against coveting; human beings covet that which they do not have but others possess. Our young people, boated with false self-confidence, covet that which they have not earned and do not possess (and in the end may well not want).
I remember some years ago the phrase "affluenza" was coined. It was about the entitled rich kids, but it fits most young people these days, and many not so you. Our whole society suffers from affluenza and it only gets worse the more wealth and technology we create. As things get better and better so many of our people become more and more disaffected.
Why? Ultimately because we have become grown children, playing with toys, while eschewing the permanent things, the eternal things. We no longer believe in God and most especially we no longer believe in a God who will eventually impose justice. We believe in a sappy happy God who would never harm a fly even if the fly was biting Him, and who is all giving. But if that were true why is life so hard in so many ways? Why is there death, grief, loss, heartbreak, disappointment, etc.? No, God has two aspects and one is the Great Judge. And life is about more than pleasure and enjoyment.
An of course many don't believe in God at all and think we just spontaneously generated out of nothing. As a result the philosophy is the same as the Satanists have long advocated "Harm no one, thy will be done". But of course you WILL harm people if your will is the whole of the law; it is unavoidable. We do not live in a vacuum. A man on a deserted island might be able to live as his will demands but in a society that leads to strife and hatred and struggle.
But that is exactly what we started doing in the past with the Me Generation and the rise of anti-natural law ideas like feminism or the sexual revolution. We are in the post-revolution period now and the damage to society, to family, to children, to our system of things like our social clubs or schools or whatnot, has been done. The young in particular feel alienated - something all youths feel at some point (teen angst) but it is far worse for them now as they no longer have the bedrock under their feet. They've been told they have to figure it all out on their own. Then along comes some radical teacher, or a Facebook page, or something else, that offers a false religion to them. They snatch it up, as a drowning man snatches a life preserver.
So now the most evil idea ever conceived is rising again and everyone is puzzled by this. It was inevitable. We've been driving the wrong way down the interstate; eventually we were going to crash.
The only way we can alter this trajectory, to avoid making the mistake Russia made, is to restore Christianity and our national roots. People have to stop substituting physical wealth for proper social upbringing, for love. If a woman can stay home with her kids she should do so and the family should do without the toys. The family is, after all, the primary building block of society and a strong family won't see their kids succumb to the temptation of a free and easy existence and punishing those who produce the wealth. If that means denying kids the smartphones or the other gadgetry so be it; the kids are better off reading a book or playing outside anyway.
We have made a false god out of our wealth, just as the Israelites did. God sent the Israelites in exile twice, and He owed them a debt based on His promise. He has made no similar promise to us. When our time comes we may just disappear, as did Esau's children, the Edomites.
Charlie Kirk knew how to reach the young, and he was very effective at it, which is why the leftists murdered him. He was showing us the way home.
We need to listen.

Brazilian Judge Orders Polls be Kept Open
Timothy Birdnow
Lula and his pet judges are doing what the Democrats have long sought to do, only in Brazil to keep the revolution alive.
Lula's former personal attorney turned judge ordered polling places kept open two hours later - AFTER ones in conservative areas closed and it was too late to reopen them.
Typical leftist scheme; steal what they cannot persuade. And
it worked.
Watch for leftist Democrat judges to do this in the upcoming election.

The Church Cowers While Babies Burn
Timothy Birdnow
At his website our old friend Selwyn Duke discusses the failure of so many to take a moral stand in politics.
I left the following coment:
Selwyn, here in Missouri there is Amendment IIII on the ballot which a. bans transgendering children and b. restores the ban on abortion which was overturned in a low-attended off-year election by a referendum.
There has been shock-and-awe campaigning against 3; every commercial break on almost every station is a commercial against it and often twice in one break.
So what is the Archdiocese doing about it? Well, from what I've seen nothing at all. I passed Mary Magdalen church the other day and there was one sad little sign saying "vote yes prop 3" and that appears to be the long and short of it. Someone with vast resources is waging the war here and nobody - especially the Catholic Church - is countering it. It probably won't pass.
There is a huge amount of money going into it.
And all the Church can muster is one sad sign. I've not even seen them anywhere else.
The same holds true on other issues too. For instance, most commercial breaks feature an ad telling people to vote against the state redistricting plan, calling it "out of Washington" even though the state legislature is overwhelmingly Republican and the only seat the Democrats will lose is Emmanuel Cleaver's, which exists only because of the old rules that said you had to have minority-majority districts. But there is money flowing into that too, and a lot of it. Nothing hitting the airwaves answering it.
The point is that the Church is not bothering with this. Oh, they are gung-ho on supporting illegal aliens, in recruiting them and moving them around the country. But they are largely silent on Prop. 3, which is something they should dump vast resources into. Why, it's almost as if they can live with the mass murder of children.

Some Judicial Sanity for a Change
Timothy Birdnow
A nice win over immigration.
These are ILLEGAL aliens and do not have the same rights and privileges enjoyed by American citizens. No bond hearings are necessary.
"Illegal immigrants do not gain constitutional protections against indefinite detention without a bond hearing until they have been legally admitted, even if they have been in the United States for a period of time, a majority of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit judges said in the ruling."
That is a sound and proper decision by the court, a breath of fresh air these days.

A Hero
Timothy Birdnow
Here is a great and inspiring story for this Sunday afternoon.
Now THIS is a man! He needs to get a Medal of Honor (I assume the Coast Guard gets those too).
Josh Law, a 24 year old Coast Guard rescue swimmer, had to save a bunch of people who were in peril of immanent death off the coast of Ensenada in Mexico. Over two dozen people were tossed into the ocean a hundred and forty miles out at sea, and the waves were fierce, making survival chances slim.
The water was very cold.
The 16 survivors he rescued (all were Mexicans) had injuries including shark bites. Law stayed with them after rescuing them and treated their wounds.
This needs to be made into a movie. Law is the very definition of a hero.

Echoes of the False Prophet
Timothy Birdnow
Pope Leo went and done it now; he's completely removed any right of the Church to admonish the State in his first encyclical.
The state does not have autonomy from the Church, but the Church DOES have autonomy from the state, and that is as it should be. The State is there to protect her citizens from evildoers and to protect them from invasion. The State was also intended to enforce legal contracts.
Other purposes have been invented over time, including the performance of charitable acts via social programs, and laws forcing the citizenry to behave in a certain fashion, mostly out of a societal outcome they believe is worthwhile (and some are). Civil rights, for example, is a euphemism for promoting black people into society at large and it's been done whether owners of businesses or anything liked it or not. Now many of these programs are in place and they many times go against the will of the People and would not pass a referendum but the State took that on itself.
It was the usurpation of these other things that has often led to the State metastasizing and pushing immoral or destructive things, and those things fall under the purview of the Church. I don't care what Pope Leo the Chicken Hearted has to say about it; the Church has a duty to call out anything that will destroy the souls of people.
Transgenderism and homosexuality are two such things that are specifically mentioned in the Bible as grounds for eternal damnation. So too is adultery, fornication, drunkenness, wrath, and a host of others. The government does not promote wrath so much (well, Obama and Biden closed their eyes to Antifa and Black Lives Matter and the like) but it most definitely has promoted the LGBTQ agenda not just in America but around the world via USAID and other such tools. And the Church was silent about that because of Pope Francis and now Leo. The Church had a moral duty to protest what was happening. Abortion is another legal issue the Church is morally bound to oppose.
Separation of Church and State is primarily an American idea, and even then it was not the radical split that we now think it was, but rather an idea of limiting the authority of government over churches, not establishing a national religion or messing about with churches the way the King did in England. The "separation" was not a separation but a one-way restraint. Thomas Jefferson wouldn't recognize what Leo has done here.
Jesus did say "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's" but he was talking about obeying legal authority at the time and about paying taxes. The preamble to this was "should we pay Rome taxes" and Jesus took out a coin and asked "whose face is on this coin?" Jesus was telling them they were duty bound to pay taxes, and accept laws up to a point.
But Paul made it clear that there were laws you could and should not obey. For instance, at the time eating food offered to idols was a big deal; many Christians refused to partake despite the fact it was a law. So many of them refused. Pauls said that was fine if your conscience said not to.
The very fact the Apostles all were executed except John is proof that the government is not supposed to be completely exempt from Church meddling; the Apostles refused to renounce Christ. Eventually Christianity became illegal and Christians were fed to the lions or forced to face execution in the gladiator contests or crucified. That was because the State demanded to be obeyed even when it was an immoral thing. Bucking them led to deaths and tortures but the
Church persevered.
Interestingly enough it was Pope Leo III who crowned Charlemagne Holy Roman Emperor, so this Pope Leo is spitting on the man whose name he took.
When the Western Roman Empire collapsed it was the Church that was forced into the leadership of Europe. They didn't ask for it. That tells me God Himself was telling the Church they had a job to do and it was as much secular as other-worldly. God put the Church in a position of temporal authority for a long time.
Leo rejects all this in his encyclical.
Yes, the Church should not simply take over a country just because it can; Jesus never intended the Church to be the King too. But it also means the Church must involve itself on matters of faith and morals.
I rather suspect Leo isn't going to stop having Catholic Charities recruit illegal aliens to invade the U.S., or quit pushing for America to amnetize illegals as they have been doing (Catholic Charities has been one of the worst NGO's bringing aliens into this country). I suspect what Leo is doing is trying to get good Catholics out of the fight to save America. He wants us to bow out of the political process, I suspect. Otherwise, why write such an encyclical now? There are serious issues he needed to address and he's out there telling the Church to sit down and shut up.
Why didn't he address the trans movement, for instance? That is most definitely in the Pope's wheelhouse.
1Corinthians 6:9-10 says:
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
And yet government is full of such and indeed it itself practices many of the later sins mentions (like thievery, greed, slandering, swindling). And most assuredly many, many souls will be damned because the Church never made a peep about any of this out of fear of offending Caesar.
Now Pope Leo, rather than tackling this laundry list of evil, is admonishing Christians to not speak up.
This is why we are in this mess in the first place; the Church remained silent when it needed to call out sins.
The Church has long believed that the False Prophet would be a Pope. I can see that. Frankly this encyclical in some ways appears to be a forerunner to the False Prophet, who will give his authority to the Beast. This encyclical kind of just did that.

Crazy Polling and Paxton
Timothy Birdnow
You have GOT to be kidding me!
This comes from Rasmussen, who is the best in a very shady business, granted, but still the best.
Crime has dropped WAY down under Donald Trump; all the statistics prove that. So how can the public possibly think the Democrats, whose solutions in their own states led to spikes in crime, possibly believe that?
People are insane.
I couldn't get into the actual article for numbers (it is behind a subscription wall) but they did
have this.
Looks like Talirico and Paxton are tied right now - just as that always happens before elections.
Add five points to Paxton and he's going to win handily. Polls usually underestimate the Republicans by 3 to 5%.
According to this particular poll 'Rico and Paxton are tied ay 45% with 5% going for Libertarian candidate Ted Brown, leaving an undecided 5% (how can anyone be undecided at this point?) I think the undecided numbers are good for Paxton; they probably don't want to admit to a pollster they are voting for Paxton, who has been horribly maligned by the media.
I have a suspicion this isn't even going to be close. I pray I am correct.
Anyway, polls have increasingly shown they aren't worth the computer screen they are printed on and we need to ignore them. In the case of this election we should just assume we are behind BUT not panic or despair. That's just what they want now.
BTW Scott Rasmussen
quit his own polling company years ago and who knows who is running it now? It is probably moving slowly leftward, just like Fox News.
Rasmussen quit in 2013 over "disagreements over company business strategy" which probably means over how they do their polling, and no doubt the board of directors wanted it to be more in line with the other polling firms, use the same models as they others. The march lockstep into the Brave New World together.

Yougov Poll: Democrats Love Hitler and are Fascists
Timothy Birdnow
And they call US Fascists/Nazis!
Fully ten percent of Democrats say they admire Der Fuehrer.
No doubt that is a coefficient of the rising anti-semitism around the world, and the rising number of Muslims and DSA nutjobs.
But even when they don't admit to liking Hitler they still operate under the same rules as the Brownshirts and support the same policies as did the Nazis. Antifa is nothing but a Nazi operation even while being named "anti-fascist". To them and to most of the Demo-left it's a word that means whatever they choose, and they choose it to mean Conservatives, Constitutionalists, Christians and Jews, etc.
Right now the Democratic Party is a fascist party without question. The respondents to this Yougove survey were just the honest ones, or the less ignorant of what they believe.
Anyway just 1% of Republicans and Independents had a "very favorable" view of Hitler, and 4% had a "somewhat unfavorable” opinion, 6% had a "somewhat unfavorable opinion,” 79% had a "very unfavorable opinion,” and 10% "don’t know.” This was true of both Republicans AND independents.
But the Democrats?
Interestingly enough, the Democrats have a 55% very favorable for Abraham Lincoln, and the GOP is 73%. But the Dems have a mere 30% somewhat favorable while the GOP sits at 16% due to the high very favorable rating. Very unfavorable or don't know are pretty even in single digits, which itself is telling; the Democrats are not angry about the Civil War still so much as the fact Lincoln was the first Republican President. Otherwise he would be heavier in the "very unfavorable" category.
So the man who freed the slaves, the base of the Democratic Party, doesn't even like the great liberator. Sad.
Also, this survey had Augusto Pinochet as the most hated world leader, well above Hitler and above others such as Pol Pot or Stalin or Lenin or any other communist, which shows the people who participated in this survey are probably mostly leftists.
I think their inner Fascist is showing; Hitler was ranked tenth in the survey of most terrible.
At any rate there is a lot of sympathy for Hitler it seems in the Democrat Party and a lot of dislike of Abraham Lincoln. And yet it is WE who are the Fascists.
Only half of the public had a favorable opinion of George Washington too, and that was 43% for Democrats, 43% for independents, and 66% Republican (which is shameful; he was our best President, or near enough).
Also interesting in this poll is that 47% of Democrats love them some Zelensky while just 7% of Republicans saw him as very favorable. 13% of Republicans see him as somewhat favorable compared to 21% for donkeys. So who is it that wants the war in Ukraine, a place where we have no vital American interests?
Also, this poll shows a 14% approval of Karl Marx by Republicans, which is complete nonsense, so I wouldn't take this survey too seriously. 19% of Dems had a somewhat favorable opinion of the old creep, so only five points more than the GOP (Marx was in single digits in extremely favorable.)
Anyway that suggests they are the Fascists, since they eschew Marx but at the same time are Leftists. That means they are fascist.
The Dems hold a 22% unfavorable rating and very unfavorable while the GOP has 50% somewhat and 20% very, which is way off for any Republican.
If this study is even remotely true we know who the fascists are and it isn't Donald J. Trump or any of the MAGA people.

The Propaganda Machine
Timothy Birdnow
On my post about
a Media Research Center Study in a post by John Solomon at Just the News a reader asked about their methodology and asked for a direct link to it. Solomon didn't provide it and naturally it would not come up with a web search so I dug and dug and eventually came up with a few things, and included a link to MRC's own report which John Solomon used for his piece. I also found a PEW report which said something similar. Anyway here is my reply to GTA 6 Map:
I was looking for the study and came across
this one from PEW which essentially says the same thing.
From the PEW article:
"A large majority of U.S. adults (86%) say they at least sometimes get news from a
smartphone, computer or tablet, including 57% who say they do so often. These figures are
almost identical to the share who got news from digital devices in 2023.
Digital devices are by far the most common way Americans get news, although a majority
(63%) get news from television at least sometimes. The portion of Americans who often
get news from TV has stayed fairly steady over the last few years, now standing at 33%."
Americans turn to radio and print publications for news far less frequently. In 2024, just
26% of U.S. adults say they often or sometimes get news in print, the lowest number our
surveys have recorded.
News websites or apps are also the most preferred source for news. About a quarter of U.S.
adults (23%) say they prefer to get their news this way, compared with 18% who prefer
social media, 12% who prefer search and 5% who prefer podcasts. The share of Americans
who prefer social media has increased by 6 percentage points since 2023.
It's interesting to note that PEW does not look at the specifics of WHO these Americans are getting their news from; just the fact that they are.
Young people are
overwehlemingly using social media, the absolute worst way to get your news but there it is. Most social media uses stories from the big aggregate sites after all.
Here is the article on the study from the MRC website. John Solomon at Just the News took this tory from there.
Sorry they don't have anything about their methodology posted. I assume you could contact the MRC and they would give you the details.
Anyway thanks for visiting and leaving a good comment. It is a point well-taken and I should have been more on top of this, I will admit. (I wrote this with a hangover and my back was killing me, plus I had errands to run, so perhaps you will forgive me?)
Cheers,
Tim

Writing by Hand Increases Neural Activity
Timothy Birdnow
Interesting; hand writing leads to greater creativity.

Norwegian neuroscientist Audrey van der Meer hooked students up to high-density EEG caps. Then she asked them to do two things. Write with a pen. Type on a keyboard. The results were immediate and severe. Writing by hand caused a synchronized burst of neural activity across the entire brain. Memory, sensory integration, and learning centers all fired at once. The brain was lit up and engaged. Typing did practically nothing. Because typing is just hitting identical keys over and over, it requires zero spatial problem-solving. When students typed the exact same words, the sophisticated cognitive network collapsed. Typing effectively allows the brain to coast on a low-energy autopilot. This explains why we remember things we write down and forget things we type. Taking notes on a laptop turns you into a human transcription machine. Using a pen forces you to listen, synthesize, and summarize in real time. Digital keystrokes offer frictionless efficiency. But the fastest way to record information is actually the worst way to retain it.
